High Voltage (HV) Building Services Design
NIFES have an excellent reputation for High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical design work.
Our experience using time served professional engineers means that we have a full understanding of site reviews, analysis, calculation and design of high voltage projects and all necessary safe working procedures and practices.
This includes HV and LV electrical supply and distribution system fault and protection system calculations, grading, analysis, study, appraisal and report presentation to both senior network operators and specialist HV personnel.
NIFES routinely prepare full detailed HV and LV electrical building services and distribution system infrastructure design to tender documentation including electrical building and site layout plans, schematics, schedules and specifications that are tailored to suit specific client requirements.
In addition to design services, NIFES provide site attendances during the construction phase as well as the provision of electrical HV and LV support to the project CDM management.
In addition to this, NIFES provide detailed advice on technical plant and equipment to clients, providing effective liaison with contractors and suppliers, along with development and reviews of internal specifications, standards and method statement for HV and LV services, installation and equipment including standby and CHP embedded generation plant.
NIFES recognise that a high degree of technical application and working knowledge and awareness is required, especially in the discipline of embedded generation, protection grading, fault analysis and connection to utility networks and this is reflected in the quality of staff that NIFES employ.
Our staff have the ability to review, calculate and design HV and LV circuit protection, conductor & switchgear ratings, selection and standards, lighting fittings, power distribution equipment, cables & containment systems for HV and LV projects, using proprietary software systems. We utilise calculations to established industry standards and models and produce electrical method statements and risk assessments for all of our electrical work activities.
A large proportion of electrical projects now include CHP embedded generation
plant and standby emergency power generation facilities, so have a full working knowledge and understanding of all relevant HTMs, BS7671, G59/1 and ETR 113 including the EAWR 1989.
