PROJECT BACKGROUND

Stafford Hospital, Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust are undergoing a refurbishment of £16m including Building Work which incorporates a Fire Compartmentation Study which NIFES were commissioned to complete.

The Trust required a fire study to establish the current level of compliance to prioritise capital and maintenance investment.

OUR APPROACH

NIFES Consulting Group was commissioned to undertake a Fire Compartmentation Study.

This was primarily to offer compliance assurance to the Trust with a view to identify high, significant, moderate and low risks. Simultaneously NIFES undertook Fire Risk Assessments throughout the estate.

A team of specialist fire surveyors and consultants carried out the commission.

Project Results

These works provided a risk based, prioritised action plan to assist the Trust in planning Capital and Maintenance Investment for the next year

NIFES reported on current deficiencies, remedial actions, risk categories, timescales and implementation costs.

The results will be used to inform estate strategy development together with detailed elemental maintenance planning.
