OUR APPROACH

Thermodynamic simulation modelling was carried out to help us refine our low-carbon design solutions that included bespoke natural ventilation and optimised daylighting.

Where natural ventilation of classrooms was impossible, heat recovery ventilation units were installed, controlled by presence detectors that also controlled the lighting. The Labs, Sports Hall & Changing Areas were equipped with underfloor heating, whilst budget constraints meant that a conventional radiator system was adopted in the classrooms.
