This Clapham One project is an £80m mixed use regeneration scheme. The project comprises a new library, residential apartments and a new GP Practice known as The Clapham Family Practice.
NIFES were appointed as the Tenants Technical Representative by NHS Lambeth, NIFES also took on the role of Project Manager for the healthcare part of the scheme. NIFES were responsible for ensuring the health part of the building was constructed to Healthcare HTM and HBN compliant standards.
The challenges that NIFES encountered on this project were unique, this was further amplified with the Architect, the Contractor, the M&E Consultants and the Project Manager all of these had never delivered a healthcare scheme before.
NIFES were the only design team members with Healthcare experience on this project.
NIFES kept in regular contact with all the construction professionals involved, NIFES meticulously review all drawings and documentation. NIFES comment on non-compliant issues and requested amendments until NIFES were satisfied the scheme was compliant and ready for sign off.
The Clapham Family Practice has relocated from an old run down building to a new modern fit-for-purpose facility in the middle of Clapham.
The Practice can now expand and can accommodate more patients and is offering more community based services from the building.
Clapham One is an iconic building situated in the heart of Clapham and has won several architectural awards.
